Attached is the The School of Arms and Armour: Harnischfechten Combat Rules. As these are regularly updated and may differ between events you should check back form time to time to ensure yours is up to date:
There are a huge number of instructional videos over on the Die Schlachtschule YouTube channel. I highly recommend you watch these until we can get our own content happening.
It is always a good idea to review the relevant videos both before and after class…WTFV…
We use the books published by Hugh Knight. The full list is here.
The Knightly Art of the Longsword. This is the main book for longsword. You should get your own copy and I would recommend getting the spiral bound version.
Die Schlachtschule Fechtbuch. This an aide mémoire for students of our school to learn all of the techniques we practice.
There are a number of other books and you should be getting them as you begin working with that particular weapon form.
Attached is a list of Vendors for various pieces of equipment that you will eventually need on your journey. It is recommended for beginners to not invest in any equipment other than basic kit (Wasters, Gloves etc) until you have a better understanding of what you are looking for.
For those newer to the school, remember to check in with one of the senior members of the School Armorer to see if what you are planning to purchase is suitable for use at the school.
